Pam astudio Troseddeg?
Mae’r cwrs Troseddeg yn cynnig profiadau cyffrous a diddorol mewn cyd-destunau pwrpasol sy’n gysylltiedig â’r system cyfiawnder troseddol.
Gall troseddeg agor y drws i lawer o lwybrau gyrfa amrywiol gan gynnwys gyrfaoedd yn yr heddlu, maes seicoleg fforensig, gwaith cymdeithasol a gwaith y gwasanaeth prawf neu wasanaethau’r carchar.
• Datblygu sgiliau ymchwil a chyflwyno ar bynciau diddordol.
• Datblygu sgiliau i gasglu, dadansoddi a dehongli data
ynghyd â chreu dadleuon rhesymegol.
• Cyfleodd i gynllunio ymgyrchoedd dros newid sy’n
ymwneud â throseddau.
• Cyfleodd i ymweld ag amryw weithleoedd ynghyd â
gwrando ar sgyrsiau gan siardwyr gwadd o grwpiau ac elusennau lleol sy’n ymwneud ag effeithiau troseddu.
Beth yw cynnwys y cwrs?
Ym Mlwyddyn 12 byddwch yn edrych ar wahanol fathau o droseddau, sut mae’r cyhoedd yn edrych ar droseddu ac yn dod i ddeall pam nad yw nifer o droseddau yn cael eu hadrodd i’r heddlu a’r cyfryngau ac effeithiau hyn. Bydd Uned 2 yn edrych ar beth yw ystyr trosedd a rhesymau pam mae pobl yn troseddu. Ym Mlwyddyn 13, byddwch yn edrych yn ddyfnach ar y system cyfiawnder troseddol a datblygu sgiliau i archwilio achosion troseddol ac i adolygu rheithfarnau. Byddwch chi’n edrych ar rolau personél a phrosesau sy’n gysylltiedig o’r adeg mae trosedd yn cael ei chyflawni tan mae’r rheithfarn ei hun yn cael ei phasio. Yn yr uned olaf, byddwch chi’n cymhwyso’ch dealltwriaeth o ddamcaniaethau troseddegol i edrych ar sut a pham rydym yn defnyddio cosb o fewn y system cyfiawnder troseddol i sicrhau rheolaeth gymdeithasol.
Why study Criminology?
It offers exciting and engaging experiences in purposeful contexts related to the criminal justice system.
Criminology can open the door to many diverse career paths including careers in the police, forensic psychology, social work and probation or prison services.

• Develop skills to collect, analyse and interpret data, as well as create logical arguments.
• Opportunities to plan campaigns for crime-related change.
• Opportunities to visit various workplaces together and listen to talks by guest speakers from local groups and charities concerned with the effects of crime.
What is the course content?
In Year 12, you will look at different types of crimes, how the public views crime and come to understand why many people don't report certain crimes to the police and media as well as the effects of this. Unit 2 will look at what is crime and the reasons why people commit crimes. In Year 13, you will take a deeper look at the criminal justice system and develop skills to examine criminal cases and review verdicts. deeper understanding of the criminal justice system and you will develop the skills needed to examine criminal cases and review verdicts. You’ll look at the roles of personnel and processes involved from the moment a crime takes place until the verdict itself is passed. In the final unit, you will apply your knowledge of criminological theories to understand how and why we use punishment within the criminal justice system in order to achieve social control.
