PROTECTIVE SERVICES
Pam astudio’r Gwasanaethau Amddiffyn?
Mae'r cwrs Gwasanaethau Amddiffyn lefel 3 yn gwrs dwy flynedd gyda pwyslais mawr ar waith cwrs a gwaith ymarferol. Mae angen 5 TGAU gradd A* - C i wneud y cwrs. Gall myfyrwyr sy’n cwblhau’r cymhwyster yn llwyddiannus chwilio am waith mewn ystod eang o alwedigaethau'r Gwasanaethau Amddiffyn, gan gynnwys, Y Lluoedd Arfog, Yr Heddlu, Heddlu Milwrol, Gwasanaeth y Carchardai, Y Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub a gwasanaethau tebyg.
Mae'r cymhwyster hwn yn rhoi'r cyfle i fyfyrwyr ehangu eu hastudiaethau a’u gorwelion mewn meysydd sy’n gysylltiedig â’r sector cyhoeddus a'r byd gwaith. Mae'r cwrs yn galluogi myfyrwyr i ddatblygu sgiliau, technegau, nodweddion personol ac agweddau sy'n hanfodol yn y sector Gwasanaethau Amddiffyn.
Datbygir blaengaredd ac annibyniaeth o fewn y cwrs drwy gyflawni nifer o weithgareddau ymarferol amrywiol. Mae’r gwersi yn cynnwys hefyd yn cynnwys mewnbyniadau gan siaradwyr gwadd yn ogystal ac ymweliadau.
Strwythurau a dulliau o asesu’r cwrs?
Mae'r myfyrwyr yn astudio dwy uned graidd a dwy uned ddewisol. Caiff y cwrs ei asesu trwy asesu parhaus (gwaith cwrs) gydag Uned 2 yn asesiad allanol. Ar ddiwedd y cwrs, os bydd y disgybl yn llwyddiannus, bydd y cymwyster yn gyfateb i un lefel A. Dyfarnir Llwyddiant (cyfateb i bwyntiau UCAS gradd E), Teilyngdod (cyfateb i bwyntiau UCAS gradd C), Rhagoriaeth (cyfateb i bwyntiau UCAS gradd A) a Rhagoriaeth* (cyfateb i bwyntiau UCAS
gradd A*).
Why study the Protective Services?
The Level 3 Protective Services course is a two year course that has an emphasis on coursework and practical work. The entry requirement for the course is at least 5 GCSEs grades A*-C. Students who successfully complete this course can seek employment within a wide area of public sector occupations, such as the Armed Forces, Police, Military Police, Prison Service, Fire Service and various other services.
This qualification provides the opportunity to broaden the students’ study in public sector related areas and the world of work. The course enables students to develop skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes, which are essential in the Protective Services.
The course develops students’ initiative and independence and nurture their self-management and self-evaluation skills through various practical activities. The teaching is enhanced by a strong input from the Protective Sector and external visits.
Course structure and methods of assessment?
The student’s study two core units and two optional units. The course is assessed through continuous assessment (coursework) with Unit 2 being an external examination assessment. At the end of the course a successful candidate will be awarded a, Pass (equivalent UCAS points to an E grade), Merit (equivalent UCAS points to a C grade), Distinction (equivalent UCAS points to an A grade) or a Distinction * (equivalent UCAS points to an A* grade).
